Hello, Puppy!

So, it's become a tradition to take the kids to something special for their birthday. Last year, we took Zoey to Shatto Dairy to see the cows (we're a happenin' family, what can I say?). This year we WERE going to take her to see the new aquarium downtown, but alas we had trouble justifying the money.

Knowing that she lovvvvvves puppies, we took her to the nearest Petland to play with them for a bit.

Now,  disclaimer: We went to Petland with no intention to buy. We didn't go to our local shelter mainly because 1) we knew she wanted to play with a Husky and 2) we had zero intention on buying. Plus the local shelter is much further away, so that was playing against it.

Needless to say, she loved it!

But she also learned a hard fact about puppies:

They wiggle. And jump. And bite.

After the beautiful husky, we played with Digger, a 14-week old Bischon pup. He was...feisty.

We loved chewing on shoe laces.

Zoey found it quite funny.

However, this is one of the many reasons why we will not be getting a dog anytime soon:

That and this.

Although this puppy was a joy. He was such a little jokester!

Look! She did pet him!

The best part of this was that Digger was older, so he wasn't the favorite of the bunch. We were able to show him a little love on a day when he may not have even been picked.

A great free event!
