Weekend Project

Last weekend, the girl was with Grandma Suzie and Papa Don for the day, so the three of us left opted to take on a project that forced its way onto our list.

A few years ago, we had a tree removed in our backyard by the pool. It was a sweetgum tree, and really did little to help our yard. Every fall it left us with far too many spikey seed pods, and it housed too many spiders for comfort. So...we had it removed.

Now the only other tree in the backyard - in a corner - had a major crack in a branch. Project!

The boys were ready for war:

...with this beast. The picture doesn't really do it justice. It was a low-hanging, over-grown tree.

Hard work...I tell you!

This is what happens when you trim trees - so many branches!

Jack rested often. We didn't mind - it was a hot day!

Then we got out the big boy.

It caused such a mess!

I don't have any "after" photos, primarily because it was too hot to want to even try. It looks better now!
