The shrinking girl

When Trav took Zoey to her 4 year old check-up, he didn't write anything down. He recited as much as he could remember, and for some reason I think he didn't quite remember it all.

Zoey went to the doctor on Monday, and they took her stats.

Her stats NOW:

Weight: 37 pounds
Height: 38 inches

That puts her in like the 8th percentile for height and the 58th for weight. That's my girl!

SO either she's shrunk a few inches or Trav mis-remembered the stats in October!

Christmas Eve with the Bowmans and Abbotts

We were so very blessed this year! There were so many wonderful gifts given to us, and for that we can never truly be thankful enough. Everyone was in such great spirits, and there was no cranky attitudes anywhere!

Here are a few select photos from Christmas Eve with the Bowmans and Abbotts!

While the cat's away, the mice will play

By "cat" I mean Sam and Nate, and by "mice" I mean the rest of us. Zoey developed a nasty ear infection and allergy to the medication, so no pictures of her. Trav was busy with football, so you really only get updates from Jack and I while he waited for my sister and brother-in-law:

And since Zoey is begging to use the keyboard, please disregard the following words/letters: zoeynbvcvbgftrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

25 Days of Christmas - Day 25

It's always sad to end something that turned out to be so much fun! We still are waiting for Aunt Sammy and Uncle Nate to arrive here from California (due here in just a few hours!!), so the gifts remain unopened here.

So, I planned for a few select gifts to be found through a scavenger hunt!

We actually made the riddles for it at about 1:00 AM on Christmas morning, so the riddles were just their speed. The only bummer is that we didn't make it last longer! Everyone had a blast, even Zoey.

25 Days of Christmas - Day 24

Nothing fancy here other than a mom wanting to ensure that her son stops wearing high-waters:

The out-takes

Digital photography is awesome, isn't it? You can delete anything! We just click away and out of the 50 photos hope that maybe 10 will be usable.

Here are some great out-takes, in case you wanted to see:

We also took some decent shots that just didn't have a place...

It's amazing to think that we took this shot just 2 days before daylight savings time ended!

I couldda been a contenda

We spent a few months working on Christmas photos - hitting the park a few times a month when the kids and the lighting were just right.

Now you've seen the photo, here are the ones we almost used, and if you look carefully, you can see the changing seasons too:

25 Days of Christmas - Days 21, 22 and 23

Day 21:  Favorites Day (they each received a small gift)
Day 22:  Chocolate dipping day (we dipped oreos into chocolate)

All of that was fun, right?

On Day 23, we went ice skating!!

Since there's no snow, it's kind of hard to find a natural area to ice skate. There's a large rink at Crown Center, but it's always so busy and such a long drive. Thanks to a coworker, we found out more about Park Place.

The rates were kind of expensive but well worth it. Here are the happy skaters:
Seriously, how cute are these little skates?

We scooted onto the ice and....
 Zoey freaked out.
As expected, she wasn't very happy.
We took her off the ice to let her chill as the boys enjoyed the ice.
 For Jack it was wonderful!
Trav hadn't been skating for more than a decade, but he was good too!
 Look at him go!
 And look at him fall...
 Hi guys!
 Don't break this concentration!
 The girl and I watched...
 And told jokes...
 And took pictures...
And watched the boys some more...
 You can do it, Jack!
 Aww, hi guys!
 There's my happy skater!
A kiss from the rink - how cute!
 But wait, what's this?
After all was said and done, it was a fun trip that didn't require us to cross the state line. I would highly recommend it!
