The Cold Reality

Remember last Sunday?

It looks like a lot of snow until you add four MORE inches to the mix:

That's right - we would have trouble going out to the deck if we wanted to!

That's about a two-foot (or more!) drift:

I would bring out the yard stick, but let's be honest - would you really want to step out when AIR temperatures look like this:

What a second - what?!

For those of you wondering - that's 2 degrees. That's around -16 degrees celsius.

Now, what exactly does that mean? That means that the 14 inches of snow reported for our area in the Christmas storm + 2.5 inches on Sunday + 4 inches on Wednesday + quite a bit of melting still results in:

Care to have a seat and soak up the sun? No? Well, do you remember our backyard project?

Here's how it looks now:

Ah, come on! You know that you wanna sit down and enjoy the weather! Or maybe it's sit down IN the weather?

Here's the view from Jack's room:

Yes, that's snow piled up against his window.

Walter still loved it though!

I bet that this driveway doesn't look so bad to you:

... until you realized that it's been shoveled twice. Check out the snow against the tree!

And do you see this circle?

That's the area we managed to clear to even get in and out of the driveway. Street sludge + freezing temperatures = cement.

Anyone want to check the mail for us?
